Decca interlude
Remember when we used to just sit back and listen to good Nigerian music?
And on an unrelated note, I’m going to spend about 60 days in China starting next month. Any tips on where to find/see/hear the good parts of Beijing’s music scene?
This Decca courtesy of the tireless Colombian, Fabian.

The only truly outstanding thing I’m aware on the Beijing music seen is actually a Mongolian band called Hanggai. Amazing stuff–their first international release is about to come out on World Music Network. I guess one of them used to play in a Chinese punk band and a couple were born in Inner Mongolia. No idea how to go about finding them in Beijing, though.
