I have been told by certain musicians who were around when these tracks were created that the listing on the album is inaccurate and several songs misattributed, for example “Komokosaka Te Na Basi” is not Jojo w/Orch. OK Jazz, but recorded by Orch. Negro Succes (led by Franco’s brother Bavon Marie Marie). And obviously, Kalle never played with OK Jazz, as suggested by “Tika Nedeka No Te” .
What Nathaniel (Braddock, above) hesitated to mention that the 3 Congo-rumba cuts on his fabulous Occidental Bros. recording came from this Sound of Kinshasa album.
