Freedom for some
If you are an American citizen, this is one of the few times in your life that your vote will actually matter.
PLEASE VOTE.
Most sub-Saharan Africans either aren’t able to vote at all or their vote will only count towards whichever dictator is trying to hold on to power. Respect the freedom that you enjoy. Head to the polls tonight.
If you’re wondering how I voted and why, read this.

I like the music but I have to object to you saying “this is one of the few times in your life that your vote will actually matter”. Just about every election matters. If you don’t like the Presidential candidates you can help pick them in the primaries. Plus there are tons of local races that are important even though they don’t get the media spotlight. The big turnout this year is great, but it should be at least this high every year.
I agree. To a certain extent, touché. However, I wanted to reinforce the point that this year’s election would be (or is) as close as the last US presidential election. Every vote counts, yes, but this time individual votes count a particularly large amount towards the final result.
As a Canadian living in West Africa, I have a very good understanding of how American foreign policy touches many, many nations across the globe. So many people I know don’t vote or care because their vote “doesn’t matter anyway” – this isn’t true.
Hey, I’m a Canadian living in the US. No wonder our argument’s been so polite
. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Well, I voted, but it didn’t seem to do a lot of good. My apologies to the people of the world. These next four years won’t be fun.
